This newsletter will be the last regular weekly newsletter of this school year. We will still send out newsletters in the summer when there is news to share but just will not be on a regular basis.

1. MLCCC Online Camp Chinese Class Themes
CHL-A & CHL-B Theme
Session 1: School (学校)

Session 1: The Origin of Civilization (人类文化的起源)
Session 2: Chinese Civilization (中国文明)

2. Intermediate Drawing Camp Class 彩铅
This class is taught by Mr. Zhang Benbiao whose students have won awards. Class size is also small (8 students) to maximize learning. Class is taught mainly in Mandarin.
彩铅1 Tuesdays & Thursdays 1:00pm - 2:00pm EDT.
彩铅2 Mondays & Wednesdays 1:00pm - 2:00pm EDT
Drawings done in the two classes are different but techniques taught are similar.
Attached at the bottom of this newsletter are samples of Mr. Zhang’s students’ artwork.
本课程从彩铅和素描基础训练入手,通过彩色铅笔的排线、平涂、渐变、叠色等技巧练习,掌握写实绘画的基本能力。本课程将素描和彩铅,静物写生与卡通画相融合,提高内容的创意性和学习的趣味性。也希望通过本活动能形成耐心、细致的学习习惯和培养良好的艺术情趣。
This course starts with learning the basics of drawing and sketching using colored pencils, and progresses to mastering the basics of realistic drawing through the practice of colored pencil techniques of lines, gradation, color layering and more, so as to improve their abilities to draw realistically. This class integrates still life sketching and cartoon drawing to improve the creativity of the content and the fun of learning. Through this class, patience and meticulous study habits can also be formed and artistic taste can also be cultivated.

4. Asian Immigrants Mental Health National Survey UCA-WAVES|邀请您参加华裔家长心理健康需求问卷调查
青少年心理健康是当今美国华人社区成员最迫切需要解决的问题之一。对精神疾病的污名化、社会孤立、文化期望、身份认同问题、心理健康素养低、缺乏会说中文或对文化敏感的心理健康专业人员——所有这些因素都导致了这一问题。
疫情的发生更是对心理健康雪上加霜。UCA WAVES项目、UCA IL分会和MAHA希望以伊州为起点,在亚裔社区,针对心理健康需求的家庭提供家长互助组和青少年互助组的服务。同时也希望有意为互助组志愿服务的朋友们联系加入我们的行列。
我们的UCA-WAVES团队创建了一个家长心理健康需求支持问卷调查。完成这项调查,将有助我们接下来根据社区家长们的需求,提供更有针对性的心理健康家长互助服务和提供各类专业支援信息。
