1. Persistency Award - COVID-Specific Adjustment

Although only our 2-hour Chinese language classes have been traditionally eligible to accrue toward this award, we are making an exception for our 1-hr virtual Kindergarten (CHL-K or Montessori K) classes this school year, as these classes were two hours in-person but we shortened to 1-hr over ZOOM to reduce screen time for our Kindergarten students.  In other words, the set of classes that were eligible to accrue toward this award before the pandemic remains the same and the award amounts remain the same.

Sponsored by the Song Li China Culture Foundation, the application form with details is here. The deadline is June 1.

2. Demo Camp Class: “Pioneering Chinese Immigrants in the U.S."

Currently planned for May 9, 2:30pm and 4:30pm.

This is a preview of our special Camp class of the above title, both parents and students can attend the demo class to understand the scope of this class better. See attached sample learning guides.

3. “Hatchet” Will be Book for Camp’s Session 3 Grade 5-6 Intensive English Writing Course

Each of our three camp courses of Intensive English Writing G5-6 will study a different book.

4. Last Day of Most Classes is May 9 - Assembly Slideshow During Class

Except for a few classes that need to hold a make-up class, most classes’ last day of learning is May 9.  Chinese language classes will have their final exam on May 9. Similar to the last school year, after the exam is over, teachers will show a slideshow recapping our school year.

5. Podcast #16 on Two Chinese Fables - 明朗中文播客第16集 寓言集《小马过河》和《狐狸和乌鸦》

Thank you to Kathy Wu and Grace Gu for reciting the famous Chinese fable “Baby Horse Crossing the Rivier” and “
The Fox and the Crow”. Thank you to Ada Li for the lovely piano accompaniment.
